Accompany is a platform that connects individuals to become sports or activities partners. An user can go onto the web app, select an activity, choose a buddy, reserve a time, and enjoy the activity at a selected venue.
Accompany currently offers a list of activities and sports and is constantly expanding the list based on supply and demand of our users/buddies.
Buddies are people who signed up as a participant of at least one activity or sport on Accompany. Accompany does not select or employ them.
When someone signs up as a buddy, they choose the skill level that best describes their capabilities. We currently do not offer any assessment to their skillset as amateur skill levels are often subjective. However, we do submit a criminal background check on all buddies.
Accompany takes safety and compliance very seriously. Our buddies all went through criminal background checks. All interactions between users and buddies are required to be in a public venue. Supports are standing by via message/phone in case of emergency or incidents.
Accompany currently operates and promotes in the greater New York area. As we expand, users can go on the site, enter in their zip code and find out the availability of our service in that area.
This depends on the schedule of our buddies and the activities available at the venues. Accompany’s web app is available 24/7 for service booking, browsing, and chat support.
Accompany’s web app is designed to be intuitive in the process of booking a buddy’s time for an activity. Simply go onto iaccompanyu.com and follow the steps and a user will be able to finish the booking process.

This depends on the availability of the buddy. Generally a session should be booked at least one hour in advance as most activities will require travel and prep time.
Yes, there’s no limit to how many buddies can be booked for one session. Some sports and activities require many participants to be entertaining or competitive(ie. Basketball, Soccer, etc.).
Reschedule can be done by canceling and rebooking. Cancellations are fully refundable as long as the request is made 2 hours ahead of the reserved time.
Yes there is a minimum of one hour for booking a buddy. Accompany buddies will have to travel and prepare for the sessions.
After an order is made, there will be a confirmation email and page that will generate a receipt/confirmation number. The system will automatically updates the order status and if there’s any change to the status, users will be notified by email.
Yes, all buddies’ availability is posted on the web app. Simply go to their profile page and book the time slots.
If a companion is late, then the customer has the right to cancel the session and be refunded fully on the session. In cases of accidents or other scenarios, it’s up to the customer and buddy to communicate on the handling of the situation. Once they agree on a plan, message support so we can adjust session time or starts the refund process accordingly.
In the case of a buddy not showing up to a booking, the customer is entitled to a full refund. The buddy will go through our internal review process for potential disciplinary actions.
Yes, as long as the user provides the information of the participant to our buddy so there’s no safety concerns.
Payment and Pricing
This depends on the buddy selected. Accompany’s buddies have the ability to set their own rate. We have a recommended range but do not require buddies to go with the recommendations. Recommended rate tables can be found here.
Apple Pay, Credit Card (VISA, MasterCard, Discovery, AMEX), and PayPal are all available to be used as payment options.
Once the buddy confirms the booking, charge will occur.
No, Accompany wants all of our users to be in a worry-free mindset that they will only be charged when they require the service.
Refunds are not available after the service is concluded. In extreme cases, there may be exceptions pending further investigation.
Tipping is not required and totally discretionary. We have a gift system that rewards buddies who go beyond to provide great experiences for their customers. But nothing is required.
Discounts are available based on where the customer is at in terms of VIP level. There can be promotional rates, for more information, please iaccompanyu.com.
All cancellations should be requested 2 hours in advance to the booking time. In extreme cases, a customer can contact support to coordinate rescheduling or possible refund.
Safety and Security
Accompany has policies, procedures and processes in place to ensure the safety of its customers, as follows:
- Accompany conducts criminal background check for all of its buddies
- All interactions between the customer and buddies should take place in public spaces
- Once the customer and buddy meet at the venue, they should log into the web app and check in
- The panic button in the web app is available if anyone feels like they are in danger, supports will be notified and contact relevant parties to absolve any potential conflict
Please use the web app to get in contact with support. In case of emergency, a customer can stop the session, a refund can be issued pending further investigation. We encourage customers to leave feedback and reviews to ensure that our buddies will provide services that can grow in retention.
Yes there is a criminal background check for all buddies.
After registration, we only require location and birthday information and selection of frequent sports/activities. Accompany will not be asking or storing social security numbers. All data is securely stored in AWS complying with our information security policies. Credit card information is processed through secured third party. Accompany does not store such information.
Please use the web app to get in contact with support. In case of emergency, a customer can stop the session, a refund can be issued pending further investigation. We encourage customers to leave feedback and reviews to ensure that our buddies will provide services that can grow in retention.
Yes, we have a feedback system in place that will keep track of all incoming reviews and ratings after activities. Reports can be filed as complaints and follow the complaint process here or with supports.
User Account and Technical Support
Yes, in the sign-in page, there’s a “forgot my password” button. A user can follow the steps and reset their password.
A user can update their personal information in the account setting page.
Yes, there’s an option in the account setting page that allows for account deletion.
A user can chat with customer support at anytime through the web app.
Depending on the nature of the technical issue, a user has different way of dealing with the problem. If it’s an error in the webpage, then please contact support to manually move along with the order. In the case of site maintenance, please wait until the site is done upgrading.
Service and Buddy Expectations
A buddy is expected to have positive energy and attitude throughout the activity, offering support to maximize the fun pertaining to the activity for the customer.
A customer can end the session early at any time during the activity. Simply communicate that to the buddy and end the session on the web app.
This depends on the skill level of the buddy. Some buddies are certified with experience to take on the role of a fitness coach.
Any activity or sport has variance and countless variables that can affect the outcome. Accompany cannot guarantee that expectation is always exceeded. But during the activity, the customer can communicate their expectations and requirements to the buddy so they can agree on a plan to approach the remainder of the activity.
This will depend on the individual buddies. Accompany is only responsible for the activities booked. Anything beyond that will need to be communicated with the buddies outside of Accompany’s service parameter.
This will depend on the activities. For an example, if the activity is attending a company event, the buddy will have to prepare accordingly to the dress code and other requirements.
Long - term Planning and VIP Services
The VIP membership level is based on the amount of deposit accumulated on the customer’s account.
